The Melissa Garden

Melissa Garden Project

This cob pavilion designed by architect Claudia Cleaver and architect/designer Joe Kennedy is a rare beauty. Conceived by Barbara and Jaques Schlaumberger, it serves as both a healing and teaching space to compliment The Melissa Garden. Built entirely by hand out of cob and earthen plasters, the space includes a kitchen, hearth, dressing room, sauna and shower. Near the pavilion is a small equipment building with an outdoor cob oven built by Joe Kennedy. Surrounding the pavilion are numerous gardens designed by Kate Fry that are host to many vibrant and happy bee colonies.
